These guideline amounts are a starting point and your puppy may need more food depending upon age, activity, and temperament. In order to reach optimal body condition, you may need to adjust food intake. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your puppy per day to get the actual portion size per feeding.

Remember to have clean, fresh water available for your puppy at all times.

This formula is recommended for pregnant or nursing dogs.

During the last three weeks of gestation, increase feeding amounts by 25% to 50%. During lactation, feed as much as she wants (usually two to five times the guideline amount, depending on litter size).

Because IAMS ProActive Health Smart Puppy food is complete and balanced, you do not need to add vitamin or mineral supplements.

When introducing IAMS ProActive Health Smart Puppy food, gradually mix it with your puppy's current food over the course of 4 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love the food but hate the BAG :-} My Boston T pup loves it, she eats it up. I even use it in training because I really don't know what training treats are good for her. The only problem I have with it is the Bag. The writing on the bag is almost impossible to read because of the no contrast of the color of the text vs the bag. Also the feeding instructions are confusing as in the older and the heavier the dog gets the bag recommends less food per day. Well It really doesn't make sense to me. I'm guessing I am supposed to mix grown up dog food with what the label says to the amount on the label but there is no mention of that on the bag. Any comments on that?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rescued puppy Bony no more My puppy came to me in December of last year eating what was said to be a good quality food. I didn't think it was. He was scrawny and not gaining, oh and not to mention excreting often a not so healthy sample. I started him on this food and immediately noticed his coat changing to losing less hair, his bony figure was filling out quite nicely(I must add that he was charted for 1.5 cups but vet has me giving 1 Cup 2x daily. He looks great and is very active. He is alert, and in a sense hyper. My only regret is that I feel he just might need a bit more to maintain his energy level but I erfuse to add to his diet as he is suplemented with treats through the day and his occasional PB kong treating. Love the product. Love the comapny. They have been more than generous with their time, advice, and savings. Thank you Iams. No more skin and bones yet well within healthy fit for breed and age.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great puppy food!!! What's next?!? My little puppy is now a year old and this has been his primary puppy food. We got him at a very young age and he was very tiny. Now, he runs and barks at dogs three times larger than himself. Thank you Iams!!! I would like to know what do I feed him now that he is a little more mature?
