IAMS Stronger, Shinier, Healthier Pet Makeover Contest

HERE’S HOW THE IAMS® STRONGER, SHINIER, HEALTHIER PET MAKEOVER CONTEST WORKS: For your chance to win one of three prizes: a Grand Prize of a lifetime supply of Iams Pet Food and a trip for you, one other adult, and your pet to a pet-friendly spa and vacation destination, a second prize of a three-year supply of Iams Pet Food and a third prize of a one-year supply of Iams Pet Food. To enter the contest, submit one “before” photo of your dog or cat taken prior to the start of the four-week challenge, and one “after” photo of your dog or cat taken at the end of the challenge. You also must submit completed comments (in 50 words or fewer) about what differences you saw in your dog or cat over a specified four-week period. Comments should state when you began the challenge and when it ended, and must address one or more of these five areas: (1) Improvements in your pet’s coat, (2) cleaner teeth/less tarter, (3) digestion, (4) muscle tone and/or (5) overall energy or vitality. Detailed entry requirements follow below. Enter by November 30, 2004.

1. HOW TO ENTER:
(a) Either complete the contest entry form online and submit your entry or complete the entry form provided in the “Iams Stronger, Shinier, Healthier Pet Makeover Contest Kit.” Mail your entry, with first-class postage affixed, in a hand-addressed envelope no larger than 4?” x 9½” (standard business size #10) to: Iams Stronger, Shinier, Healthier Pet Makeover Contest, c/o Fleishman-Hillard, 2405 Grand Boulevard, Suite 700, Kansas City, MO 64108-2522. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER ENVELOPE. Your entry must contain before and after photos of your dog or cat, with dates on the photos indicating when your dog or cat started eating Iams Pet Food, and the date four weeks later when you completed the makeover and saw the differences in your pet. Entries must be received by November 30, 2004. No mechanically reproduced entries permitted. Not responsible for lost, late, illegible, mutilated or misdirected entries.

(b) Beginning 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on March 1, 2004, through 11:59 p.m. ET on November 30, 2004, you can participate in the Contest. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER HOME ADDRESS. By entering, you certify that you are 18 years of age or older. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET, November 30, 2004. As participation in the Contest requires a four-week pet monitoring period, you must begin your participation by November 2, 2004, in order to submit your entry on time. You may also enter online at www.iams.com/healthier.

IMPORTANT! In order to be eligible for a prize, you must submit with your entry, your completed checklist and comments describing the differences you saw in your pet, or complete all portions of the online entry form. Statement may not contain profanities and may not in any way disparage persons, agents or organizations associated with Procter & Gamble or Iams. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry which does not comply with these requirements or these official rules.

2. ELIGIBILITY:
This Contest is open only to residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older as of March 1, 2004. Employees of Procter & Gamble, Iams, participating retailers, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, online agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Sponsor is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, damaged, illegible or misdirected mail.

The sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Sponsor reserves the right to modify the Contest or disqualify entrant if fraud, misconduct or other failures destroy the integrity of the Contest as determined by sponsor, in their sole discretion.


All material submitted becomes the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. By entering the Contest, entrant is agreeing that Sponsor is authorized to use entrant’s name, statements and dog or cat photo(s) and comments as it sees fit, without restriction as to the territory of duration of such use including usage in advertising and publicity. Sponsor’s usage rights also shall extend to any individuals appearing in said photo(s). Sponsor reserves the right to reproduce the statement in full or edit and enhance the statement at its discretion. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges which are final. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Contest or in the announcement of the prize.

3. JUDGING:
A panel of judges from Fleishman-Hillard and The Iams Company will evaluate the entries and choose one Grand Prize Winner, a second prize winner and a third prize winner from the United States. Entries will be judged on documented changes in each of the five signs of a healthier pet (50 percent); quality of comments based on sincerity, quotability, and creativity (30 percent); and positive, visible, and significant changes in pet’s appearance as clearly demonstrated in the before and after photos (20 percent). The Grand Prize Winner will be required to complete an affidavit/release of liability and publicity release prior to receipt of said Grand Prize. Failure to obtain such documents from a Grand Prize Winner or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected. The Grand Prize Winner will be notified by mail on or about December 31, 2004. Limit one prize per family/household. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. By accepting prize, winner agrees to hold sponsors, their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and assigns harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize. Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Acceptance of prizes constitutes permission to the sponsor and its agencies to use winners’ and winners’ pets’ names and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Winners may be required to sign additional releases or other documentation prior to the award of their prize.

4. PRIZE AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE:
The prizes with a total approximate retail value of $4,500 will be awarded as follows: Trip for Grand Prize Winner, one (1) pet, and one (1) guest to the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla. Prize consists of round-trip coach air transportation from major gateway airport nearest winner’s residence to Miami, Fla.; three days/two nights luxury hotel accommodations; ground transportation to/from airport, hotel and Alton Grooming; up to $250 in services from the spa at Loews Miami Beach Hotel; a per diem of $150 to cover meals and incidentals; and dinner for two at Emeril’s Miami Beach restaurant. Grand Prize also includes a lifetime supply of Iams Pet Food, a gift basket of Iams merchandise and a bath and grooming session for the pet at Alton Grooming in Miami Beach, Fla. Grand Prize Winner may choose to board pet at a luxury kennel near winner’s residence in lieu of bringing their pet on the trip, in which case pet will be treated to a bath and grooming session at the kennel during the stay. Grand Prize also includes a lifetime supply of Iams dry dog or cat food, second prize is a three-year supply of Iams dry dog or cat food, and third prize is a one-year supply of Iams dry dog or cat food. “Lifetime” is the duration of the life of the winning dog or cat. Annual food amounts will be determined by Iams and based on average consumption for winning pet’s size and lifestyle. Food will be provided in the form of “free product vouchers.” Approximate retail value of: Grand Prize is $3,500; second prize is $750; third prize is $250.

Prizes consist only of those items specifically listed as part of the prize. Prize may be modified at Sponsor’s sole discretion.

5. WINNERS:
For names of the Grand Prize Winner and second and third prize winners, available after January 1, 2005, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped, #10 envelope, to be received by March 1, 2005, to: Iams Stronger, Shinier, Healthier Pet Makeover Contest, c/o Fleishman-Hillard, 2405 Grand Boulevard, Suite 700, Kansas City, MO 64108-2522. The winners’ names also will be posted on www.iamsco.com.
