These guideline amounts are a starting point and your cat may need more food depending upon age, activity and temperament. In order to reach optimal body condition, you may need to adjust food intake. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your cat per day to get the actual portion size per feeding.

  • If you have a kitten, pregnant or nursing cat, we recommend feeding IAMS kitten food.
  • Remember to have clean, fresh water available for your cat at all times.
  • Because IAMS INDOOR WEIGHT & HAIRBALL CARE™ cat food is complete and balanced for maintenance, you do not need to add vitamin or mineral supplements.
  • When introducing IAMS cat food, gradually mix it with your cat’s current food over the course of 4 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more hairballs! We have 3 adult cats and they would pretty much throw up everyday, but when I tried them on the Iam's brand of the hairball control,it definitely put a stop to the daily throwing up.If they do throw up,it would be rarely now,but thank God,this is definitely a life saver! Not to mention, they LOVE it!My ragdoll cat always lets me know when the dish is empty. Lol But thank you Iam's! Please don't discontinue this!! <3

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just getting started Just started my cat (who must lose 5 lbs) on Weight & Hairball. His reaction was "meh", but I plan to inform you how things go. I was unable to find the calorie count on the bag, and since I must watch his daily calorie intake, including treats, I was glad to see in in your website. I'd like to ask you to give us kcals per ounce (or 1/4 & 1/3 cup measures) on the bags. For those of us who are trying to be diligent, it would help. Also, I'd like your print to be larger, for those of us who don't want to carry a magnifier to the store. Thank you! Since my kitty just got started, don't put too much credit on the survey. You didn't give me many middle-of-the-road response options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good....... My cat will be 2 years old on 5/1/17. He has long hair and is a diligent groomer. I've tried a couple other brands of catfood, but He was getting frequent hairballs (would wake me up in the middle of the night with his gagging). Sometimes he would even toss up his food. I switched him to this food about 2 months ago, and he hasn't had a single hairball since! He eats it without a problem too. I think he does better with this chicken type, rather than the salmon type.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Where's it from? Our cats like this Iams Proactive Health product, but I'd like to know where it is manufactured. How does Iams monitor and guarantee that the ingredients are safe and wholesome? Thanks for your response.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I thought it was just me/my cat! My cat has recently stopped eating his food. And has been so hungry that he has started to eat our dog's food, which can be quite hazardous. I thought I bought my cat the wrong food until I started reading the reviews on this page! It wasn't me (yay!), but rather the change in the cat food formula/shape/size whathave you. While I'm glad I figured this out, this does not solve my problem. My cat has been eating dog food for over a month because of how much he now hates this cat food (that I've been giving him for 6+ years). This is so disheartening. I will have to find him different food, and somehow get him off of the dog food he's been eating just to nourish his appetite.
