These guideline amounts are a starting point and your kitten may need more food depending upon age, activity and temperament. In order to reach optimal body condition, you may need to adjust food intake. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your kitten per day to get the actual portion size per feeding. Feed kittens multiple meals throughout the day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read mixed reviews, but don't regret choosing IAMS I recently found a stray/feral kitten on one of my walks and he seemed severely underweight. He followed me around and didn't let go of me, so I took him in. Noticing his evident malnourishment, I slowly started to introuduce kibble foods to him, but to no avail. The next day, the kitten was showing symptoms of dehydration and anemia. He wasn't interested in the kibble I was offering nor the protein I put on his plate, so I rushed him to the vet, who was able to get him back to normality. Back on my house, the kitten still had no interest in the kibble (although he did eat chicken and tuna right away), so I decided to switch to IAMS proactive health for kittens. I had read some mixed reviews on this food, but after some encouragement from others who had positive experiences with IAMS, I gave it a shot. I slowly started introducing IAMS to my kitten and he seemed to enjoy it right away. His stools got firmer, he drank more water now, and his overall energy levels seemed to improve day by day. A few days after (and up until now), I am greeted anxiously by a lively kitten who demands his IAMS kibbles when he's hungry. So, in conclusion, I am very pleased with this food for my kitten and will continue to feed him this brand even in his adult and senior stages. I can't say this food saved my kitten, but it certainly got him very interested (and hungry) when it came to kibble food. I would definitely recommend this food to anyone else, but always cautioning that each cat is different and may take certain foods and not others. Other than that, thank you IAMS, now my kitty is obsessed with your food!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from George loves this food I started my kitten George on this food when I got him at 12 weeks. He loves the food. On the weekends I also give him a treat of the kitty pate from Iams.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Regular Iams Consumer My husband and I have been using Iams Indoor cat for years. When my daughter rescued a kitten (she named him Shadow) a few days ago we immediately went and purchased Iams Kitten food. Out of all the kitty/cat food out there, we trusted Iams for our furbabies. Since our kitten is only 6 weeks old, we add water to his food to soften it up and he loves it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New Iams for Kitties Hi, I have been buying Iams for 10 years or more, and I have to say that the new Iams Kitties, my cats don't like it, the type of food is like black peppercorn, to hard to eat it, why you don't change it like the other one before, is horrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why the change? I was panicking when I could not find the IAMS Kitten Food at any of the usual store, as it is one of the very few things my Baby Kitty will eat. He like(d) the shape (cross). I finally ordered from Amazon Prime and was relieved to receive it. Then I opened the bag...Oh, no! They changed the kibble shape! I had no choice, so I gave him some anyhow. He ate for a minute and then choked and regurgitated everything. Good morning to me! At least I heard him gagging and got him down off the couch before he let loose. What a let down! Let me just say, that for many felines, shape and texture are as important as taste. But, IAMS may have changed the taste, as well, because he did not have any interest. It must smell different than the cross shaped kibbles from previous version. My two cents on the cross shape...I think that my babies like it because it is easier to hold in their mouth and chew. I think it is a great shape for kitten food and for smaller cats with small mouth, or even seniors. The smaller ball type kibbles that many (and now IAMS) kitten food are using, are harder to get a good bite grip, and they swallow them whole, sometimes resulting in eating too fast & regurgitation.I'll either be returning these, or perhaps donate to a rescue (but I think the new shape is no good for babies, in my opinion).IAMS...Do you have any kibble that are cross-shaped

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved it before they changed it. Not only did my cat love this when it was shaped like a star, it was the only dry food my dog would eat. Now that it is a ball neither will touch it. The taste must have been changed also. This bag goes in the trash where it belongs

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Changed Kibble size? This was the only kibble my kitten would eat when I brought him home 3 months ago-it was star shaped. Then I just bought a bag and it is tiny pieces that she can't eat. WHY???
