These guideline amounts are a starting point and your puppy may need more food depending upon age, activity, and temperament. In order to reach optimal body condition, you may need to adjust food intake. This represents the total recommended volume of food per day. You should divide the total recommended feeding amount by the number of times you feed your puppy per day to get the actual portion size per feeding.

Remember to have clean, fresh water available for your puppy at all times.

This formula is recommended for pregnant and nursing dogs.

During the last three weeks of gestation, increase feeding amounts by 25 to 50%. During lactation, feed as much as she wants (usually two to five times the guideline amount, depending on litter size).
Because IAMS Puppy  is complete and balanced, you do not need to add vitamin or mineral supplements.

When introducing IAMS Puppy food, gradually mix it with your puppy's current food over the course of 4 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IAMS Puppy Food I got a new puppy in November last year and we noticed the food she was eating made her sick. We decided to try transitioning her to IAMS Puppy and we have not had any issues since! She loves it so much and the other dogs try to eat her food all the time so it must be good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My puppy loves this fod! My puppy absolutely loves this food. He runs to his bowl at feeding time, eats it all up (even licks the bowl- looking for more). I highly recommend and Vets recommend too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic!!! I started feeding my puppy a different brand of food when I first adopted her and meal time was rough. She would eat one bite and walk away. After two months of this I switched over to IAMS puppy food and now she eats the whole bowl only stopping to drink some water half way through. Very glad that I found a food that she loves!! (yes this review sounds cheesy but its true!!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I can not read your bag I just got a new puppy. She is a 4 month old Lab/Husky mix. I started her on this food because I am familiar with it from past dogs. The day I got her, yesterday her poop was soft, today it is normal. I had to come online to find out how much I need to feed her. She about 30-25 lbs. The writing on your bag, white on yellow is impossible to read. I tried with my reading glasses and a magnifier and still could not see it. No, it's not just me, my 35 yr old son could barely read it also. I recommend a more readable bag please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ONLY food that agrees with our Plott Hound Our Plott Hound Teka is 7 months old now, but over her first few months we were feeding her chicken, rice, carrots, kale because we could not find a dry food that agreed with her (Kirkland, Taste of the Wild, Canidae). She would have diarrhea after introducing any other dry food. Then we read reviews on Iams Smart Puppy and decided to give it a try. Now after a month of slowly introducing Smart Puppy and it becoming 90% of her food, she is doing great. She even acts happier.
